Link Visiting Places: Twilight Princess Edition
Link is very confused.
Link--the other Link, perhaps better known as Link of Ordon--said he was going to take him to Hyrule Castle Town in Lanaryu Province. Link (of Skyloft) did not know what a Hyrule Castle Town was. He did know what a Lanaryu Province was, or at least just a Lanaryu, and had used that to build certain expectations.
This hilly green landscape defies his expectations.
"Um...are you sure we're in the right place?" he asks Link of Ordon, looking around at the Not Desert.

Very, very tentatively, he sticks out a hand towards the puppy.

How can one animal be this kawaii??!!?!?!?
"They're pets. This one's name is Richard and he loves playing fetch. Don'tcha, boy?"
...Either
1) He already knows the names of the animals here or
2) He went out of his way to name them.
It's not really clear which would be weirder.

the kawaiiness of this thread threatens to skyloftrocket

"Sure!" Be sure to hold the puppy like he was and not at arm's length like a huge newb.

deal w/ it
no subject
They are going to just be stuck in the street and side-tracked by the dog, aren't they?
no subject
Link puts the puppy down, though. It's awkward, holding an animal like that for a long period of time. Unless it's a remlit. It's always worth it for a remlit.
"You know, we only have one kind of pet in Skyloft."

no subject
Er.
"...sometimes you have to do that because they're wild at night. Like, they'll try to kill you."
no subject
>Tossing animals off of a really high place
Yeah his reaction wasn't going to be pretty if he didn't know that they could fly, but the last part...
"...That last part ain't normal, you know that, right?"
Even if he's from a Magical Sky Island.

"I mean for animals in general. Being tame in the day and trying to kill people at night. Animals don't do that just because. You sure there isn't something that's making them act up at night?"
~*Ranger Levels*~
no subject
"I hadn't thought of that."
no subject
You haven't.
He doesn't say anything about that, though, just thinks about what might be the cause?
"Maybe you could look into it when you get back."
no subject
Wouldn't...wouldn't that explain why there are monsters at night? Whatever it is that's effecting the remlits?
no subject
Also he could literally ask the Remlits what was up and that would be waaaaay too easy, so.
On the plus side, they've made it to the central area of town without getting sidetracked for hours, so that's some kind of accomplishment right there.

Link's staring at the fountain.
no subject
Sure, it's really nice-looking, but this seemed to be about more than just...about that.
He tries to get Skyloft's attention with a shoulder tap.
no subject
no subject
Not that he doesn't do the same thing sometimes, but...
no subject
no subject
Like, he agrees that it's a really nice fountain, but still.
"The water comes from Zora's Domain, just a bit north of here." ...No, Snoopy, that isn't the thing he's wondering about.
no subject
The question is markedly absent of the usual youthful wistfulness and wonder. He figures the water must come from somewhere. The thing of it is, he doesn't care.
no subject
"Ah...what's up?"
no subject
Unless Ordon decides to pry, that will give Link some time to come up with a decent way to ask why the fountain has the exact same symbol as the Temple of Time.
And why the sign of the Triforce is everywhere.
