Link Visiting Places: Twilight Princess Edition

Link is very confused.

Link--the other Link, perhaps better known as Link of Ordon--said he was going to take him to Hyrule Castle Town in Lanaryu Province. Link (of Skyloft) did not know what a Hyrule Castle Town was. He did know what a Lanaryu Province was, or at least just a Lanaryu, and had used that to build certain expectations.

This hilly green landscape defies his expectations.

"Um...are you sure we're in the right place?" he asks Link of Ordon, looking around at the Not Desert.

"Huh?"

"...You alright? You were spacing off there."

Not that he doesn't do the same thing sometimes, but...

"Oh. I was...looking at the fountain..."

[cant_be_tamed]

"I can see that." Though he says that in a joking kind of way, he's still a little confused.

Like, he agrees that it's a really nice fountain, but still.

"The water comes from Zora's Domain, just a bit north of here." ...No, Snoopy, that isn't the thing he's wondering about.

"Really?"

The question is markedly absent of the usual youthful wistfulness and wonder. He figures the water must come from somewhere. The thing of it is, he doesn't care.

Well, he at least noticed that part.

"Ah...what's up?"

[sky_child]

"Nothing. Let's look at something else."

Unless Ordon decides to pry, that will give Link some time to come up with a decent way to ask why the fountain has the exact same symbol as the Temple of Time.

And why the sign of the Triforce is everywhere.

Yeah, let's be real, he's not dumb and knows there's something bothering the guy.

But he also knows when to not pry, and this is one of those times.

"O-Okay, sure. Come on." He grabs Skyloft's arm and off they go south, to the market.

"Whoa...!"

And just like that, he's back to being Doofy McAncestorpants again, being dragged along to the market, and trying his best not to be bothered by all the symbols around this place.

Thankfully, there aren't quite that many symbols around this area. Or at least they're not as noticeable compared to everything else in the marketplace.

And that's a lot of things and people, hoo boy.

He has to remind himself that he has an important question to think about, as it's frequently getting lost in the wonder and confusion of all these people and all these things. What does he stare at first? What does he ask about next?

"Do you...come here often?"

He gives Skyloft this look that clearly says, "Wow do you realize what that sounded like?" because...does he realize what that sounded like?

"...Occasionally, yeah."

nope

"What's that over there?" he asks, nodding towards a stand of apples.

It's time.

He just laughs a bit. "It's a fruit cart." You know...

This is bringing up an interesting question for him as well.

"So, what did y'all do for food up there?" They certainly wouldn't have had any goats or cattle, would they?

"...pumpkins..."

He looks at Skyloft, as if waiting for him to continue.

"...That's it?"

Please tell him that's not it.

No wonder Skyloft is so tiny, sheesh.

Skyloft nods. Seriously. It is a deep and serious nod.

"Ha ha, yeah very funny."

Not buying it, sorry.

Skyloft looks sad. It is a sad and forlorn Skyloft.

[cant_be_tamed]

"That's physically impossible."

Stop making that face, please.

"You'd be so malnourished you'da had rickets before you were five."

Stop. MAKING THAT FACE-UGH. FINE. Ordon sighs and reaches into his wallet.

"Fine, pick whatever you want."

Because if he had to choose himself, they'd be stuck here aaaaaaaaaall day.

Link stares at the wallet.

Link stares at Link.

Link starts to lol.

Uh...? What now?

Ordon looks at him like he doesn't know what he's laughing about because...he doesn't.

i mean first of all by the looks of that wallet skyloft thinks he has waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more money than ordon but

"I'm not...I wasn't...I'm fine, really!"
