Link Visiting Places: SKY WORL EDITION

Link had left the bar to make some arrangements--namely, making sure that the door lead him to Skyloft, rather than the Lanayru Caves--or the Lanayru Gorge. Wouldn't that have been confusing to the old dragon, walking out with another human?

Not that the people of Skyloft wouldn't be any less confused by the Link. Skyloft was a pretty tight-knit community for such a large island, and it'd be hard, explaining the other boy in a convincing fashion. He's hoping he can explain it away by saying he's a fan from one of the outlying islands. But he has his doubts about that...

Doubts he will set aside for the time being. It's time to wake the other boy up!

So he's knock, knock, knocking on his door.

"Hey, Link? It's me...Link!"

He didn't like it when Zelda dragged him off to places either but it was a much more pleasant experience seeing as how her hand is as big as one of his fingers and ignoring the one instance where she almost dragged him to his death, that was just an oversight

"H-hey, stop!" he calls out as they approach the door. He just knows the kid would try to open the door himself otherwise, sending them both back to Hyrule. And he doesn't want to visit that Hyrule!

He probably doesn't, and it's probably a thing he has to be told, but at least he stops and lets go, since he doesn't quite know how the mechanics of that door works, so there's that.

He still stares at the other Link though because when is Sky Worl happening come on.

It's gonna happen it's gonna happen just be patient okay!

Look, see, he opened the door. Bam! It happened. After you, good sir, into the corridors of the Knight Academy.

Yessssssssssssss out of the way nerd, here he comes, into a....build....ing.

...Hmm. At least it looks pretty nice in here. Kinda big, too. Just be thankful that he's not immediately trying to raid every single room in here (yet).

That's not gonna happen 'cause it's Shortie's turn to grab Big Beefy Manchild by the arm and drag him out of the building. He's hauling the other Link out there impressively, for such a small guy.

Outside, they're greeted by a yellow stone wall, separated from them by a few feet of grass. There's an archway opening up to a flight of stone stairs to their right, and a patch of magenta-colored flowers, and some pots sitting at the far edge of a wooden platform that Link subsequently runs to and breaks with his sword.

And then he runs into the wall.

Shockingly, breaking the pots doesn't strike him as odd, but he does snicker a little when he runs into the wall.

Nice going, bro.

There is a moment where he stands still, smiling brightly, hands held before him as he holds some sort of blue bug with big pinchers that he subsequently places

"So this is the Knight Academy," he says, returning to the other Link. "This is where I go to school."

"...What's a school?"

...Right, raised by Immortal Fairy Children.

"It's a place where you learn things, like how to read and write...this one teaches me how to become a knight."

...OH! Like the Hylian Knights!

Except technically not but still wow that is really cool.

"So who are you defending?" Just...Skyloft in general or...?

[sky_child]

"The people of Skyloft." Pause. "Well...that's what everyone else is doing. I have my own mission."

He nods without having to ask because he thinks he understands what that mission is, yeah.

"So, who's your king?" ...Uh.

It's probably kind of hard for him to picture a place that doesn't have a monarchy...

"We don't have a king," he says flatly.

I mean duh.

"...A queen?"

That whooshing was Link completely missing the point.

[sky_child]

"No. And we don't have a princess, either."

Just Zelda.

.........That is...a little much for a nine-year-old who's used to monarchies as a Thing, because it looks like he starts to open his mouth to say something, then closes it because he's honestly blanking on what to say.

"Want to see the rest of town?" he asks, giving not a single fuck about Link's inability to comprehend a society without a monarchy.

"Alright," he says, smiling and cheerful as he beckons him towards the stairs.

A dirt path winds its way from the base of the stairs. Just ahead of them is a lone tree sitting in a stretch of grass by another set of stairs. To their right are two more trees--and the clear, open sky. A wooden platform sticks out just beyond the edge of the ground beside them, ending not too far from another, smaller island with an open chest.

To their left is a stone wall from which the second flight of stares descends, and before this wall a patch of tall grass with

You just told a nine year old that there's no one ruling this place. i.e. there is no one governing this place, therefore there are no laws here.

...Not that he kept to those laws very well in the first place, I mean this is someone who literally robs graves with nary a fuck given. When he was in Hyrule.

What is he going to do in Skyloft?

...The answer to this is "wander away," apparently. Good going.

He almost calls out for him, but then, well. He'd feel a little awkward about that...

The question is, which way did he go? Did he go up the stairs to the Bazaar, or up the path towards the large deck?

Since he can't see Link up the path, he's going to assume the Bazaar.

The Bazaar is actually a pretty safe bet because the decorations distracted him enough to where he didn't just go into someone's house, thankfully.

He's there in the plaza, just staring at the huge building.

He lets out a sigh of relief when he sees Link from a distance.

And when he's right next to him he lets out, "Don't wander off like that! It's dangerous! You could've fallen off the edge!"
